BLACK THOUGHT COLLECTIVE IN VALENCIA

##A new collective for black music has been born in Valencia

Their first event, ‘Feel the Groove’, will take place in the Veles e Vents building on June 8th with concerts and DJs sessions.

‘Black Thought Collective’ is born from the union of several restless souls with years of experience as cultural agitators and the music of African-American roots as a nexus. This project aims to bring together different musical sensibilities that already have a presence in the city of Valencia with the groove as a common denominator to make them grow together, incorporating a universe of disciplines and references linked to music such as literature, gastronomy and other cultural expressions. Its founders intend that Valencia has events similar to those already enjoyed in Madrid or Barcelona.

‘The Black Waste Factory’ leaves no one indifferent. They  will open the day as a  combo of crazy lovers of Soul, Funk and R & B, references to James Brown, the kingdom of Daptone, New Orleans and African-American music of the 60s and 70s with their raw sounds. They are a compass and an engine for the creative formation of the “Cabanyal Soul” sound that promises to make you sweat & dance.

Down From Castellon, we will see ‘Calmoso and The Black Fangs’. After the publication of their EP “Fang-Tazztic!” they have just recorded new material that includes their song “A foc lent”, which we can surely enjoy live. They have been compared to Gang Starr’s legendary Guru, specifically with the sound developed for the Jazzmatazz saga recordings. Flow, jazz and groove go hand in hand with this band.

Not only will there be live music. On the decks, there will be dance music with roots and Afro-American influences, including the organizers of ‘Cabanyal Reggae’ or those responsible for the Black Music sessions in the ‘La Peligro’ room.

Black Thought Collective is already a reality in the city of Valencia. A collective that is now formalized, although with an experience already acquired over the years. ‘Feel the Groove’ is just the starting post, and it takes place in a big way, with a day full of cultural activities that cannot leave anyone indifferent. A new collective that brings wealth and artistic diversity to the city of Valencia.
