LIVE BRAZILIAN MUSIC AT ‘CAFÉ MERCEDES JAZZ’ (NOVEMBER 29th) MARIO BAKUNA & EDMUNDO CARNEIRO

##MARIO BAKUNA is a Brazilian composer, singer and guitarist who has been based in London for almost a decade. He is a professional musician with more than 15 years of career and he graduated at ‘Universidade Livre de Música de São Paulo’, Brazil. He trained with great musicians such as Olmir Stocker, Roberto Sion and Roberto Bomilcar (pianist who played with Frank Sinatra during his visit to Brazil). His study and research focuses on Afro-Brazilian Rhythms, Samba, Jazz and Bossa Nova. He began his journey in Europe to expand his field of musical research and since moving to London he has played with Jean Toussaint, Liam Noble, Roberto Manzin, Ricardo dos Santos, Edmundo Carneiro, Cacau Queiroz, Alain Jean Marie, Filó Machado and Andrew McCormack.

 In Europe, he develops and continues his career immersed in the circuit of prestigious festivals and clubs such as Ronnie Scott’s (UK), Pizza Express (UK), Annabel’s Club (UK) Devonshire Club (UK), Surrey National Golf Club (UK), Charlie Wright’s (UK), Toulouse Lautrec (UK), Rich Mix (UK), Jazzlive at the Crypt (UK), Mau Mau Bar (UK), Jazz Cafe (UK), The House of St Barnabas (UK), Boisdale Jazz Club (UK), Primo Bar (UK), Bermondsey Arts Club (UK), Floripa London (UK), Ealing Jazz Festival (UK) World Jazz Festival Coventry (UK), Bab Ilo (France), Toulx Saint Coeux Jazz Festival (France), Munganga Theatre (Netherlands), Dizzy Jazz Club (Netherlands).

EDMUNDO CARNEIRO has multiplied his collaborations and musical relations since 1988, when he settled in France, and has performed in more than 66 countries alongside artists such as Seu Jorge, Tânia Maria, Monica Passos, Chucho Valdes, Johnny Clegg, Robin di Maggio, Betina B, Brad Scott, Ray Lema, M, Axel Bauer, Arthur H and Jacques Higelin. He moves naturally and with great mastery through Classical Music, Jazz and Electronic Music leaving his mark “electro chic” in the work of great names of the international music scene such as Saint-Germain, Next Evidence, Charles Schilling, Stéphane Pompougnac and Bob Sinclar himself. “More than a percussionist, Edmundo Carneiro is a sorcerer.”
