This summer, American born singer Jason Faust headlined ‘Black Note Club’, performing for the first time as the frontman of his band. The magical concoction of the night consisted of extremely talented musicians Jason Faust on vocals, keyboards, and trumpet, Corah on tenor saxophone and vocals, Manu Linois on electric guitar, Sam Keri on electric bass, Adrian Black on drums and vocals, and Brian Zani acting as director of operations and videographer for the band.
The night’s theme, titled ‘Love in all aspects’, filled the space with a very warm, joyous energy, immediately energising the crowd with the band’s upbeat, infectious melodies and rhythms. The band covered well-known hits such as ‘You are the sunshine of my life’ by Stevie Wonder, and also debuted original performances by Jason Faust, such as ‘Make a choice’, ‘Love always finds its way’, and ‘Chill to this vibe’, which were all received very positively by the crowd.
Each soloist performance blew me away, as the sheer talent and commitment by every one of those musical artists hypnotised the crowd into a state of wonderment and fixation. Faust’s transition between trumpet and keyboards within the same song was impressive to say the least, with his vocals complementing very well with Black’s soulful vocal tone.
The synthesiser mode used on the keyboards added an out-of-this world element to the night, in a fusion of electro, soul, and jazz. Overall, the night emanated feel-good vibes and highlighted the importance of love and human connection through meaningful lyrics – “Forever and ever, we live life together, we live for each other”.
