‘Amazing Mota’ has arrived, a fun buffet with a rotating belt that immerses us in Japanese pop culture. Located on Calle Poeta Artola, it is the first place in Valencia to have a double revolving belt –the upper one for hot dishes and the lower one for cold ones– with a glass enclosure. It has more than a hundred varieties of Asian tapas, although it also includes some Spanish dishes. Children’s dreams and Japanese pop culture are the stars of Amazing Mota, the amazing Asian open buffet that has opened its doors in Calle Poeta Artola, located in the heart of the Algirós district of Valencia. An immersive experience, unique in the city, that transports us to the universe of manga and anime thanks to a carefully designed atmosphere of neon signs, gachapon machines -popular vending machines for toys and collectibles- and visual references to iconic Japanese animation characters that have marked the childhood of several generations: from Doraemon and Son Goku to Mario Bros and Pokémon.
The central element of ‘Amazing Mota’ is the double rotating conveyor belt that continuously transports the dishes around the restaurant so that customers can “catch” them as they pass in front of their table. A constant parade of colours and flavours offers diners over a hundred Asian specialities, as well as the occasional classic Spanish tapas like ensaladilla rusa (Russian salad) or caracoles en salsa picante (snails in spicy sauce).
Hot dishes – grilled, steamed or fried preparations such as tempuras, gyozas, skewers, wok vegetables and yakisobas – are transported on the upper conveyor belt, while cold dishes – salads, niguiris, maki rolls, hosomakis, poké bowls – are transported on the lower conveyor belt.
This double rotating belt system, a pioneer in Valencia, has the advantage of keeping the preparations at their optimum temperature and consumption conditions. In addition, the glazing provides an added guarantee of hygiene by insulating the food until the moment it is picked up.
In addition to the buffet service, there is also the possibility of ordering from the à la carte menu. All you have to do is ask one of the waiters at the restaurant, which also has a kitchen open to the dining room.
All the dishes and drinks you want
Amazing Mota is an open buffet; therefore, the client can consume as many dishes as he/she wants, for one hour, and has unlimited access to the soft drinks, beer and water station.
The access price for adults is 16.90 euros from Monday to Friday at midday (not public holidays); 21.90 euros in the evenings from Monday to Thursday, and 23.90 euros on weekends and public holidays.
The children’s buffet has a reduced price, depending on the height of the child: free for children under 95 centimetres tall; 8.95 euros for those between 95 and 130 centimetres, and 11.95 euros for those between 130 and 150 centimetres. To reward the loyalty of repeat customers, there is a coupon system whereby a token for the gachapon machines is given away for every ten visits to the buffet.

Amazing Mota is a new buffet restaurant concept devised by Eric Yan, an entrepreneur with long experience in the hospitality industry. Passionate about new technologies and innovation, Yan is also known in the restaurant world as the creator of Crensa, the first robotic restaurant in Spain, which operated with enormous success in the Benimaclet neighbourhood for years.
‘Amazing Mota’ is a further step in the incorporation of intelligent systems in the restaurant industry and the use of technology in favour of comfort and quality guarantees for customers,” says Yan. As for the aesthetics of the place, my idea was to create a fun atmosphere for both families and groups of friends. That’s why all the details of this venue are selected to represent the children’s fantasies of magic, action and adventure that not only youngsters but also many adults have.
