Esmeralda Torres Núñez, known as ‘Esmeralda Rancapino’ in the world of flamenco singing, was born on 28 September 2006 in El Puerto Santa María (Cádiz), into a family with deep artistic and musical roots. Daughter of the percussionist Ramón Torres Núñez and the cantaora Ana Núñez Fernández, she is a direct descendant of the famous “Orillo del Puerto” and granddaughter of the renowned Alonso Núñez “Rancapino”. Her artistic debut took place at the age of 4 on the Canal Sur programme “Menuda noche”, where she already demonstrated her innate talent alongside her grandfather Alonso.
After years of experience and performances on various stages, such as the Potaje de Utrera Juvenil and the Festival de la Parpuja in Chiclana, the crucial moment came at the Teatro Flamenco Madrid, where her grandfather Rancapino gave her the opportunity to shine as a soloist. Since then, Esmeralda has earned the respect of the flamenco community, consolidating her career with performances at festivals such as Suma Flamenca in Madrid, where she captivated audiences with her show “El despertar de mi cante”.
Throughout her career, Esmeralda has shared the stage with great flamenco figures in festivals such as Almadraba and Algarrobo, as well as in tributes to the master Paco del Gastón. She has also been a special guest at events such as the Fundación Cruz Campo and the Premios al Compás del Cante, alongside Rancapino Chico.
At 18 years of age, Esmeralda represents the present and future of Cadiz flamenco singing, standing out for her talent and passion for the art of flamenco.
