“MEMENTO VITAE” ART EXHIBITION AT ‘LAS CERVEZAS DEL MERCADO DE COLÓN’

Photographer Eva Ripoll, artist Enric M. Catalá and journalist J.R. Seguí join forces at ‘Las Cervezas del Mercado de Colón by BWK’ for the exhibition “Memento Vitae”.

“Memento vitae” is reunion, compilation and life.  This is what this exhibition proposes, which brings together three individual ways of understanding creativity, but which have been combined at the same pace individually. These three forms have three protagonists: the photographer Eva Ripoll, the cultural journalist J.R. Seguí and the philologist and artist Enric M. Catalá. The exhibition, installed at Las Cervezas del Mercado By BWK, in the Mercado de Colón, will remain open until November.

“Memento Vitae” brings together photographs, gouaches and watercolours about the world of music; from the reality and sensitivity of women soloists from different orchestras and full of energy, leadership and ideas -Eva Ripoll-, the fantasy of the imagined scores that someone could one day make real -Enric M. Català- or the mere free creation inspired by the memory of the Bauhaus school and the musical creation itself that works as an articulating engine -J.R. Seguí. A tribute to music as an aesthetic incentive and provocative of looks, sounds and ideas.

“Memento Vitae” brings together more than twenty works by the three creators in different techniques and offers a panoramic view of reality, imagination and fiction.

Eva Ripoll is a renowned photographer who has spent a large part of her professional career in the world of music, where she has offered her own particular view of its protagonists. Her work has been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions, and she has also collaborated with various media such as “National Geographic”.

Seguí, a journalist specialising in the cultural world for 40 years, has published several books and essays. His creative facet has been exhibited in different individual and collective exhibitions. Painting and sculpture is his hobby. He has been head of Culture for Levante EMV, columnist for Valencia Plaza and currently collaborates with the newspaper Las Provincias and Cadena Ser.

Enric M. Català is a philologist and graduate in Fine Arts and the author of numerous individual exhibitions. His work can be found in many private collections around the world. In addition to his creative work, Català is an expert in the recreation of works by the great artists of the history of art. In this exhibition his surrealist object-like scores are a flash of imagination and colour through their unexpected forms and movements.
