OPEN DAY AT ‘PALAU DE LES ARTS’ ON 15 SEPTEMBER!

‘Palau de Les Arts’ will celebrate its 17th Open Day with educational workshops, lyrical recitals and a symphonic concert. The public will be able to visit the building’s spaces free of charge from 11.00 am to 7.00 pm on Sunday 15 September.  Those interested can now purchase tickets for the workshops, the recitals of the Centre de Perfeccionament and the concert by the OCV. The Palau de les Arts will celebrate its 17th Open Doors Day on Sunday 15th September with a wide range of activities, including educational workshops, lyrical recitals, a symphonic concert and free visits to the different halls and spaces of the building.

Les Arts will remain open that day from 11.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m., when the last groups of visitors will enter to freely tour the different spaces, such as the Main Hall, the Auditori or the Espai Los Toros until 7.00 p.m. During their visit, the public will be able to learn about the different proposals that the different halls of Les Arts host, as well as the main protagonists of the 2024-2025 Season, through audiovisual projections.

Following last year’s success, ‘Les Arts’ will also be offering this year’s edition with activities specially designed for family audiences and younger spectators to enjoy their own experience in the theatre.

On the one hand, both the Foyer of the Main Hall and the stage of the Aula Magistral will have pianos at the disposal of anyone who wants to experience an artistic moment in Calatrava’s building, while the Espai Los Toros, located on the twelfth floor, will host two educational workshops.

Staff from the technical team of Les Arts and the Education Department will be giving two sessions of VestuArts (11.00h and 16.00h) and CaracterizaT (12.30h and 17.30h), in which the youngest children, and also the adults accompanying them, will be able to learn about the process of creating the characters of an opera through the costumes and all the possible elements of characterisation.

Les Arts also informs that there will be a catering service at different points along the route, where water, refreshments and snacks will be available throughout the day.

Musical programme

The musical programme of the Open Doors Day will begin at the Teatre Martín i Soler, which will host two recitals, at 12:00h and 17:00h, in which the new class of singers and pianists from the Centre de Perfeccionament will present themselves to the Valencian public, with a repertoire made up of operatic pieces and lyrical songs.

The OCV, for its part, will be in charge of closing the day with a symphonic concert, the culmination of its September tour, in which it will visit, together with its conductor, James Gaffigan, different municipalities of the Comunitat Valenciana.

For his first concert of the season in Les Arts, the American maestro proposes an attractive programme, with three works to enjoy the excellent sound of the OCV: Beethoven’s ‘Leonore N˚ 3 Overture’, Brahms’ ‘Third’ symphony and Rimsky-Korsakov’s ‘Capriccio espagnol’.

Tickets

Those interested can purchase their tickets from this week onwards from the theatre’s website. The tickets are free of charge, only the corresponding administration costs have to be paid: one euro for the didactic workshops, two euros for the recitals of the Centre de Perfeccionament and three euros for the concert of the OCV in the Auditori.
