The Museum of Illusions, the largest chain of private museums in the world, has announced its third location in Spain, this time in Valencia. The official opening of this new space will take place next week on Thursday on Calle Guillem de Castro (13), a stone’s throw from Plaza San Agustín. Valencia thus becomes the 54th city in the world to host this emblematic museum. In addition to the classic and renowned exhibits, such as the Kaleidoscope, the Vortex Tunnel and the Infinity Room, some attractions have been specially designed to pay tribute to Valencia’s unique culture and heritage. These include:
– ‘La Habitación al Revés’, an interactive illusion inspired by the Malvarrosa beach.
– Ojos que te Siguen’, where a famous local figure stares at visitors in an intriguing way.
– RGB’, an immersive experience rooted in the depths of the Mediterranean.
Renowned the world over, the Musée des Illusions offers a unique immersive experience, captivating visitors of all ages with optical illusions and interactive exhibits that challenge perception, arouse curiosity and stimulate the imagination.
Like the other establishments in the chain, the Valencia museum combines entertainment and education, embodying the concept of ‘edutainment’. Founded in Croatia in 2015, the Museum of Illusions has redefined the way we learn by making science and visual perception fun and accessible. Each exhibition is designed to leave a lasting impression, provoke discussion, encourage reflection and inspire wonder in visitors.
With 54 sites in 25 countries and more than 15 million visitors, the Museum of Illusions has become an international phenomenon. Roko Zivkovic, one of the founders, explains why Valencia was chosen: “Its dynamic cultural scene, rich history, reputation as a centre of innovation and creativity, and rise in the rankings of the best cities to live in and visit, make it an obvious choice.”
A show of solidarity
Sensitive to the recent flooding in areas close to Valencia, the team at the new museum decided to launch a solidarity initiative. From Thursday 28 November until the end of the year, all profits from the sale of games and related products from their shop will be donated to the flood victims.
