THE PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY OF VALENCIA WILL PROVIDE CLASSICAL MUSIC CONCERTS FOR THE ‘CASINO OF AGRICULTURE’

Both centenary institutions sign a collaboration agreement and inaugurate it with a Chamber concert. The Real Sociedad Valenciana de Agricultura y Deportes (RSVAD) and the Sociedad Filarmónica de Valencia (SFV) are going to work together after the signing of a collaboration agreement by their presidents, Manuel Sánchez-Luengo and Fernando Rodríguez González, in which it has been established that the palace in Calle Comedias will be a special place for the Sociedad Filarmónica de Valencia to give exclusive concerts.  Two centenary societies in Valencia are thus joining forces and inaugurating this collaboration with a commented concert by the String Quartet of the Chamber Orchestra of the SFV.

The opening event under the title ‘Perspectives on Classical Music’, was designed to enjoy and delve into the fascinating world of classical music as a well-received concert that invited to explore the richness of classical music from multiple angles: emotions, styles and forms that captivate and enrich the listener. Through the string quartet it was discovered how this format has been a canvas of maximum creativity for composers, and the elements and characteristics that define each style and evoke unique emotions were identified. The programme included works by Bach, Haydn, Dvorak, Debussy, Caroline Shaw, Florence Price, De Falla and Jessie Montgomery.

Julen Fernández, general secretary of the Sociedad Filarmónica de Valencia, Javier Muñoz de Prat and Lucila Talens Salas, cultural spokespersons of the Casino de Agricultura will actively participate in the development of the agreement as they will work to carry out conferences, networking and cultural activities without forgetting that the members of the philharmonic will have an emblematic place that since the 19th century has had representatives of the Valencian socio-economic world and that, now, even more so, will have music lovers of the 21st century.

The collaboration between both entities will be mutual and constant. They will develop activities jointly, and apart from the particular conditions agreed to be able to join as members and have access to the services, activities and spaces of the Casino de Agricultura by the Philharmonic, they will inform each other of the particular activities of each one in order to share them, thus multiplying the offer for all the associates.

“For the Casino de Agricultura to have the support and friendship of the Philharmonic Society is not only a privilege but an opportunity to exchange experiences and wisdom and makes us look to the future with more optimism,” said Manuel Sánchez Luengo, who added: “Our members are united by the desire to know, to learn and to know but also the desire to enjoy, and the selection of an entity such as the Philharmonic for concerts and musical advice, will be a privilege that they will certainly enjoy and appreciate.”

“Collaborating with the Casino de Agricultura represents a unique opportunity to strengthen ties with an institution that shares our passion for culture and knowledge,” said Fernando Rodríguez González, president of the Philharmonic Society, who added: “We are convinced that this relationship will allow our members to enjoy enriching experiences and at the same time contribute to strengthening the cultural fabric of our city. Together, we will continue to promote music as a space for meeting and learning.”
