The ‘Brava’ agency collaborates with Africa Pitarch via a poster with solidarity purposes, whose sale is destined to those affected by the DANA. The image invites us to recover the illusion of gathering around the table, now that food has proven to be a language of love.
24/7 Valencia: Could you tell us something more about this solidarity initiative for victims of ‘La Dana’?
BRAVA AGENCY: We are at a loss for words. In the last two weeks, not a single sentence came to our lips. It was very difficult to communicate in a field as devoted to joy as gastronomy. At the same time, it was also a source of pride, as once again the generosity of the sector towards others was revealed. Brava decided that this was not the time to make noise, nor to occupy a space that did not belong to it nor to utter empty words. We preferred to come back with an initiative that would bring real value. A small gesture that, in one way or another, could help those affected by the DANA catastrophe in Valencia, in line with our purpose as a brand.
And here we are: calling for collaboration. ‘Tot el Poble a Una Taula’ is the slogan of the action that we are launching together with África Pitarch, an artist from Torrent, one of the areas affected by the storm. Brava is funding the creation of this solidarity print, of which several copies will be reproduced, the sale of which will go entirely to those affected. Each unit can be purchased from 25 euros -we leave it open to anyone who wants to give more-, to be paid directly to the chosen NGO: the Fila 0 of @desdevalenciaparavalencia, an initiative promoted directly by different chefs, to promote solidarity dinners and direct donations. Once the association has registered the income, we will agree how to deliver it to each person.
If anything identifies our agency, it is the passion for gastronomy, which these days more than ever has functioned as a language of love. A solidarity chain, also of food, has highlighted the strength of Tot Un Poble. These tables of volunteers, gathered together to regain strength and get back to work, remind us of the past, when neighbours came out onto the streets to eat together. Tables like the ones in the image are therefore tables of salvation and symbols of community. Pitarch’s work invites us to recover the illusion of coming together for lunch, a snack or dinner. Even to feel the embrace of a restaurant. In short, to celebrate food again.
The spirit of ‘Brava’ has always been to excite and to be a playground for lovers of food. Even in times as difficult as the present, we will continue to try to contribute and without losing sight of the need to continue helping in all the months to come. The action of ‘Tot el Poble a Una Taula’ promises not to end here.
