Juan Parrilla, a flautist and composer born in Jerez and linked to one of the great families of flamenco, presents a show that reflects his career as a leading figure in contemporary instrumental flamenco. From his unique perspective (that of a flamenco artist who plays the flute, not a flautist who approaches flamenco), he creates a concert where tradition and original creation coexist naturally.
The repertoire includes original compositions created for key figures in dance and song, with whom he has collaborated for over three decades: Antonio Canales, Aída Gómez, Joaquín Cortés, Rafael Amargo, among others. On stage, Juan Parrilla showcases his versatility as a performer and his own musical language, combining rhythmic depth, melodic lyricism, and a mastery of time signatures.
The result is a solid and personal offering, designed for both flamenco aficionados and those approaching this musical language from other musical backgrounds. A show that celebrates the value of the flute as a flamenco instrument and the musician’s role as a creator within the genre.
