A journey of sensations, a series of impressions that invite us to reflect on our relationship with nature and the beauty that we can find on our way. This is how the artist Belén Guijarro defines her exhibition “Beyond green” which has been inaugurated at Casino Rock and which will remain on display throughout the summer. In this exhibition the senses are sharpened with those small details that assault the viewer and lead  to enjoy wild flowers that vibrate, a strong fuchsia colour that traps or daisies that impact with their white light. Looking to the front, naked trees with a grey sky, a vine with red leaves marking the autumn, blue and green prickly pears, a calm sea with children playing with their kite.

The whole exhibition makes us think that nature is not only green, but that it is wind moving the precious leaves of the eucalyptus trees full of blue, green or pink shades; that it is a chestnut tree that is no longer green, a moor and lagoons with their rushes and reeds at dawn, a dead laurel. Everything shows that in the end, painting is light and light is colour.

Belén Guijarro, after graduating in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid and training for five years with Manuel Franquelo and José Luis Barranco, took the leap to San Diego to specialise in portrait painting for a year. She has won several competitions, received awards and has developed her career as a restorer, participating, for example, in the restoration of works of art in the Monastery of Tordesilla and the Palace of Linares, as well as taking part in training and restoration campaigns in Toro and the Royal Palace in Madrid. In the last 20 years he has held a dozen exhibitions in different parts of Spain.

The brothers Andrés and Mario Hidalgo, left the Ánfora rice shop to travel to Madrid and now return to their native Valencia to an emblematic place, the Real Sociedad Valenciana de Agricultura y Deportes, better known as the Casino de Agricultura. From C/ Comedias they work with passion, tradition and fusion. With the opening of ‘Casino Rock’ they unite traditional Mediterranean cuisine, the traditional home cooking, with the Hosper oven, Asian touches, well-travelled cocktails and a premium service. Gathering Valencians from eleven in the morning will be easy thanks to the renovated space, with a spacious lounge and a cosy dining room, which will welcome those coffees with newspapers, the appetizers that end in snacks, the rice dishes that are so much our own or the American cocktails at the bar that are so British.  During the week, the menus will bring together price, quality and the flavour of a lifetime to make way for those special celebrations with which we like to entertain family and friends in the Casino Rock Privé area. Casino Rock is a place to enjoy the Mediterranean diet that respects the product and the “chup chup”, but that knows how to entertain with nods to Asian and fusion cuisine. It is a club with traditional service, in a cool atmosphere where market and fish market produce, meats and fish made with real embers or spoon dishes will all be served with care and elegance. Squid and cauliflower rice, electric melon soup, pulled pork fideuá, burrito sabanero, sautéed artichokes on poultry bechamel sauce are just a few examples.

The Real Sociedad Valenciana de Agricultura y Deportes, better known as the Casino de Agricultura, is located in an emblematic building in the centre of the city. It has been and will continue to be a meeting point for the Valencian socio-economic and cultural world.
