On December 13, Castellón became a beacon of hope as top chefs and restaurants united for the initiative ‘From Valencia to Valencia’. Hosted at El Invernadero in Benicàssim, this charity dinner aimed to rebuild lives devastated by the October DANA storm, which left destruction in its wake across Valencia. Guided by Michelin-starred chefs Atalaya, Cal Paradís, and Raúl Resino, alongside over a dozen Castellón establishments, the evening radiated generosity. From Izakaya to Mesón del Pastor and Arre, the culinary community demonstrated remarkable camaraderie. Together, they joined a global movement led by renowned Valencian chefs Ricard Camarena, Quique Dacosta, and Begoña Rodrigo, raising over €3 million through 33 charity dinners across continents.
Chef Alejandra Herrador of Atalaya called the event a historic milestone: “This gala was entirely built on collaboration, proving what collective effort can achieve. Seeing 170 people contribute so passionately for Valencia has been profoundly moving.”
The initiative’s focus extends beyond food. A dedicated Mesa 0 platform allowed those unable to attend to contribute, ensuring widespread support. Funds raised will provide direct aid to small businesses, entrepreneurs, and families hardest hit by the storm.
With transparency guaranteed through rigorous audits by Bureau Veritas, and operational support from local and international organizations, *From Valencia to Valencia* exemplifies the transformative power of solidarity. This isn’t just about rebuilding structures but restoring dreams, one plate at a time.
