Gourmet Catering & Espacios has chosen two outstanding Valencian professionals, the chef Pablo Ministro and the interior designer Susana Lozano, for the legendary restaurant of the Palau de Les Arts, with new dishes such as the waffle with Sarrión sturgeon caviar, creamy parmesan and cured cream or the black rice with octopus torreznos, salicornia and “all i oli”. The Valencian interior design studio of Susana Lozano has been in charge of promoting the new life of Contrapunto, the emblematic restaurant of the Palau de Les Arts, which is now reborn with enthusiasm. It is still committed to the signature cuisine of Pablo Ministro and manages to combine the professionalism of both Valencians to give the space a new life, more Mediterranean, more international but above all, more coherent and sincere. Ministro’s proven haute cuisine finally finds its perfect counterpoint in the dining room.
The monumental shell of the space created by Calatrava houses an interior dining room with 59 seats and a large terrace for 138 diners, and Lozano incorporates a large perimeter fence in the shape of a wave, as a nod to the Mediterranean, which manages to enclose the space without losing visibility of the monuments that surround it. Appropriate signage says goodbye to confusion and some thirty large green-leaved plants resting in wicker planters add a touch of freshness and cheerfulness.
The Mediterranean, sophistication, nature and alignment go hand in hand throughout the project. And with these elements and the wooden, nea and black furniture, different spaces are built to enjoy a chill out area, with sofas to eat, enjoy a more informal dinner or have a drink as in the central area, full of bars that will facilitate the coolest enjoyment. And then there are the dining rooms, one inside and one outside, all distributed, offering mobility and freshness without losing the essence and elegance.
Contrapunto, since it was born, has gone through several stages but for the last seven years, Pablo Ministro has been leading the product cuisine, with international influences and proven creativity. Signature cuisine is his trademark and the new space will offer new experiences in which the Mediterranean will also be the protagonist on the plate, with a lot of local, seasonal and market produce, always with this casual and different signature cuisine.
Gourmet Catering & Espacios was founded in 1957 and since then it has not stopped innovating and incorporating technology. The Valencian company, doyenne in the world of catering and venue management, has a cohesive team of professionals and a solid structure that allows it to manage emblematic venues such as Vallesa de Mandor, Cartuja de Ara Christi, Masía del Carmen, Huerto San Vicente, Huerto de San José, Palacio Marqueses Malferit, Palau de Les Arts, Hotel Balneario Las Arenas GL***** or Valencia CF. They have just incorporated the Clock Building in the Port.
“Experience shows us that Valencians appreciate, especially for their celebrations, that the preparation is traditional, the products are seasonal and always have a touch of the avant-garde that gives it that special swing that helps to bring excitement to their moment”, explains Raquel Vicente, who adds: “Another must that distinguishes us is our ability to adapt and the peace of mind that comes from being able to leave everything in our hands with total confidence”.
