‘THE LEMON TWIGS’ DELIVERED A CONCERT FOR VALENCIA TO REMEMBER!

During punctuated crescendos, brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario would reach athletic heights jumping or high kicking the air as if life itself was in the balance. Great showmen, their unbound energy radiated through the packed house at ‘Sala Moon’ furthering the instant bond they had when they hit the stage. The two guitarists blend a certain jangle guitar sound reminiscent of The Byrds or Buffalo Springfield…while the guitars are aggressive enough for an underground cool vibe.

Foremost was their music. The seventeen song set and four song encore was exceptional. Along with bassist Danny Ayala and drummer Reza Matin, the quartet played magnificently. Especially notable were the vocals as their voices weaved harmonies that help define their sound. They have a noticeable Beach Boys and Beatles influence and a big vocal presence too. Their lyrical content are matters of the heart and soul, complimenting the robust power-pop sound.

Further, the four swapped instruments demonstrating musical dexterity. For I Wanna Prove to You, Michael swapped from guitar to drums with Reza, And soon after Brian took over bass so Danny could play keyboards on Foolin’ Around.  Michael took over the bass later as well. The first two encore songs Corner of My Eye and When Winter Comes Around, Brain sang and played solo acoustic guitar before they wrapped with two rockers ending the show: I Don’t Wanna Cry and Rock On (Over and Over).

Featured in the set were the singles from their new release A Dream Is All We Know: My Golden Years, They Don’t Know How to Fall in Place, A Dream Is All I Know and How Can I Love Her More? . Also, they played a new song   I’ve Got A Broken Heart that they will record after the tour.  A refreshingly fun night for everyone and thanks to the crew at ‘Loco Club’ too…where the after party was hosted.
