The Valencian startup kicks off the season with an exclusive event alongside food and lifestyle content creators, unveiling new recipes such as rib-eye rice, eggplant and mushroom rice dishes. The startup ‘Tu Arrocero’ has given a warm welcome to summer with ‘Rice & Splash’, the exclusive event celebrated on the 1st of July at ‘La Cadaña (Paterna)’ to help the 15 creators of this gastronomical tale and lifestyle too. The action focuses on amplifying the imagination of the brand, including a day of swimming, music and debates about digital communication and a ‘showcooking’. A tribute to those typical Sunday feelings with family and friends, and the paella, chatting without a care for hours.
The event hosted influencers such as @tastyvalenciafood, @siemprequedanganasdecomer, @tamirecomienda, @mariaguerreiro5, @cheatmeal_es, @comervalencia_, @mrburgersvlc, @zampi_news, @exploraconxavi, @mery_dresscode, @neiravalentinaa, @elmundodebarbara, @latintavino, @alegriaeducativa y @theqclub.es. During the day, which began at 11:30h in the morning until 17:00h, everyone could try 3 recipes from ‘Tu Arrocero’: ‘arroz a banda del senyoret’ (rice beside the gentlemen); a powerful homemade seafood ‘fumet’ with cuttlefish, squid and shrimp; a ‘paella valenciana’ with chicken, butter beans and fresh green beans wrapped in sofrito; and a vegetable rice with cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, spinach, fresh green beans and spring garlic.
Primero arroz, después splash! – First rice, then splash!
Apart from presenting itself as a brand to new audiences, ‘Tu Arrocero’ wants to get close to foodies on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. Giving face to, and nonetheless, conversing with them around different important themes for business and daily activities. For them, the three recipes went down with a splash and the assistants debated about themes surrounding relating to the digital world, social media, influencing, the tools of creation and the need to generate local food content. “We want to be the rice business that welcomes the summer in a unique and different form, but also to hear the opinions of the people with the most influential people of today”, highlights Fran Ceacero, one of those responsible for Tu Arrocero.
Flavour, entertainment and a refreshing summer offering, featuring other established local brands, including Malakú Kombucha, livened up the pre-meal experience with its 100% Valencian mint flavoured kombucha in a can. After dinner, the meal was sweetened with Piem! Bombetas from Utopik Chocolates, chocolates filled with Valencian liqueurs, and a version with popcorn poppers.
New rice dishes on the menu
Other than the novelties of the season, Tu Arrocero has added new recipes to its rice menu. Two recipes that unite those already prepared, both in stores and through home delivery. First, the chicken, bean and pumpkin rice, a wholesome recipe with a slightly sweet flair. The second, the rib, eggplant and mushroom rice, three versatile ingredients that tastily incorporate into one another. Now, these recipes can be enjoyed on Tu Arrocero’s weekly menu, served at two locations in the city of Valencia. “We respect tradition above all, but we wanted to try new ingredients, and if you like them, we’ll also add them to the website so you can enjoy them at home”, adds Álvaro Portolés, CEO of Tu Arrocero.

Tu arrocero is a Valencian startup that offers home-delivered rice. Its delivery and collection service is complemented by its two existing stores (C/ Juan Llorens, 25 and C/ República Argentina, 13), in addition to a third that will soon be opening in the centre of Valencia. Two business lines— delivery and takeaway —revolve around a fundamental ingredient for Valencians: rice. Behind the brand are Álvaro Portolés, the company’s current CEO, and Fran Cearero, co-founder of Tu arrocero, who joined forces in 2023 to differentiate themselves from the current rice offerings in the foodie space.
