#Based in Valencia, Rick Treffers is a Dutch songwriter, singer, musician and producer, releasing albums since 1995 as Mist, El Turista Optimista, Miss Universe, Girlfriend Misery and Rick Treffers. In 2018 he published his first novel (in Dutch). There are Two new albums in 2021: ‘Looking For A Place To Stay’ (in English) and ‘Levensdrift’ (in Dutch)

“It’s my most existential, most mature album. I didn’t want to talk about love or failed relationships. I don’t want to remember what I had in my youth or what I lost in it. In ‘Looking for a place to stay’ I wanted to express my desire to live what I have left in an intense way, but without the anxiety of a 20-year-old.”

“The album looks for light in the darkness, the melodies help life to move forward, stopping continually thinking about what will or won’t come. It’s about listening less to the brain and paying more attention to the rest of the organs, like the heart or the stomach”.
