ALL OPEN AGAIN! CAFÉ & TAPAS & ICE CREAM…WALKING AROUND THE CENTRE OF VALENCIA

#For those who are looking for a fun day of walking around Valencia and visiting cafés, there are plenty of options for you. One day I visited Plaza de Ayuntamiento and was walking around. I noticed the restaurant ‘Cocoa.’ I was drawn in by the description on the outside saying it was an international restaurant and had things ranging from Pad Thai to Paella. Additionally, I could see the ceiling from the outside and it had pretty sun-looking lights hanging off of it.

When I came in, I saw they had tapas plates and immediately knew I’d be getting croquetas because they are my favourite. But, in the future I will definitely return and try an international plate. Highly recommend Cocoa for a relaxed brunch or tapas! If you wish to venture towards the historic centre, make sure to look around while you are walking for you never know what you could stumble upon.

One day my friend and I had some time to wander around and were on the search for drinks. We found ourselves in the Carmen zone and at ‘El Cafetín’, a pretty well-known café. On first arrival, you are greeted by a very quaint café style with purple walls lined with vintage photos, candles and relaxing music. We ordered refreshing ‘Agua de Valencia’ and it came with a side of potato chips. If you are looking for a very mellow afternoon relaxing around Carmen, I highly recommend it.

The same friend and I found a gelato place ‘Gelateria La Romana’ located on Calle de San Vicente Mártir and tried authentic gelato. For reasonable prices you could get a scoop in a cone or a cup and the taste is quite rich. It differed in texture to all of the other gelatos I have tried in Spain by having a very creamy almost wispy feel. After trying the coffee and chocolate, I strongly recommend them. And don’t forget to ask for whipped cream on top! Moral of the story, you never know what you could find in Valencia!”
