This International Women’s Day, ‘Ateneo Mercantil’ in the centre of Valencia will host a special candlelit concert on Saturday 4^th March intended to honour female musical artists. The concert is organised by FEVER- an events company that organise unique cultural experiences around the world. Showcasing empowering anthems and elevating the visibility of women in music, the concert will serve as a unique reminder of all we have to celebrate. Every year gender equity and the continued fight for women’s rights is marked globally by International Women’s Day. Celebrated on the 8^th of March, it is an important day in the global calendar that is committed to advancing equality and upholding female achievements through recognition, support, and empowerment.

In honour of International Women’s Day, the concert offers a one-of-a-kind experience with exquisitely played live music under the soft glow of candles. The magic of the show is made even more magic by its powerful message of valuing women’s musical contributions. Played in a classical and instrumental style, the string quartet create the euphoric melodies of top hits with smooth ambient textures that are complemented by the serene atmosphere of the candlelit venue. The event’s setlist includes iconic tracks by the likes of Adele, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, and Madonna.

Women continue to redefine the global music scene to this day, placing their stamp of identity on the industry and creating an inspiring legacy for upcoming artists. This is something Eilish recognised in her Billboard Woman of the Year speech in 2019 as she thanked all the woman of the past who paved the way for her and an entire generation of young women. However, this is just the beginning. Although the music industry is fast evolving, inclusivity is not fully within grasp…as many of these women find their lyrical inspiration in a sense of ownership for female identity. While this event amplifies and appreciates women in music, it will also raise awareness of the challenges of underrepresentation.

The concert will take place the Saturday before International Women’s Day, Saturday 4^th March, in the heart of Valencia’s city centre. It will also travel to spectacular venues in Madrid, Barcelona, and Seville during the week of the global holiday. Join the celebration of female musical talent this International Women’s Day and recognise and support female achievements and contributions.
