Carlos Vives, the world  music star of Colombian music,  will perform in Valencia as part of his European tour “El Rock De Mi Pueblo Vive”, a musical party to celebrate the Colombian sound he created more than 30 years ago and with which he crossed borders, forever changing the Latin music scene.

Carlos Vives is one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time.is preparing to continue taking his voice and the Colombian flag around the world. For Carlos Vives, folklore is the origin, the soul, the oral tradition, the Rio Grande, the highest mountain… but when he takes it to the stage it is electricity, lights and sounds; it is modernity. That is why his new tour is called “El Rock De Mi pueblo Vive”, and when he refers to “mi pueblo”, he includes the Spanish people, who are also his people, as he has always proudly affirmed that his music is Hispano-American. In fact, the tour in Spain “specifically should be called El Rock De Mi Pueblo Y Olé”, says Vives jocularly.

“Thirty years ago my music came to stay in that diverse heart that represents the Spanish people, but it was not because of a musical marketing phenomenon, like many musical events, but because we recognised each other as equals and shared the pride of being Hispanic… To be Europe, Africa and America!” – Carlos Vives.

“El Rock De Mi Pueblo Vive” will make a stop on 18 July at the Viveros concerts, as part of the ‘Gran Feria de Julio’ de Valencia. Tickets will be on sale this Wednesday 10 April at 12:00h at Ticketmaster and El Corte Inglés. However, there will be a Live Nation Santander SMusic pre-sale from today Monday at 12:00h and another one tomorrow Tuesday at 12:00h for registered users at planetevents.es.

This date is in addition to others already announced, such as 14 July at the WiZink Center in Madrid.

The “El Rock De Mi Pueblo Vive” tour is a tribute to the movement that Carlos Vives created in the 90s and with which he led a new generation of musicians and artists who followed in his footsteps, betting on local music and Colombian sounds; framed within a concept he called “Colombian Pop”.
