On Saturday 27th January, two acts graced the stage of ‘Loco Club’, a renowned music venue that is about 6 minutes’ walk from the centre of Valencia. The two bands made it a memorable show with their punchy performances. Alternative rock band ‘Doce Lamentos’ began the matinee concert with an eclectic mix of music that had one young patron taking the dance floor by storm whilst his parents watched proudly. The rest of the bar was filled with a smattering of guests, enjoying a beer and the music together. There was a friendly familiarity between the audience who chatted happily together whilst appreciating the show.
Indie rock band Midnight Collective then finished off the afternoon with a set that had the whole room bopping along to. The band were upbeat and chirpy as they performed, clearly demonstrating an innate passion for music that was infectious, before the audience were treated to bowls of chilli from the bar.
February at Loco Club brings a whole host of events to the characteristic bar, starting off with Spanish bands Nanas and Arrecío on 1 February. More children are invited to join the dance floor on the morning of the 11th, as Ramonets, a Rock’n’Roll group for the whole family comes to Loco Club, with a style that remembers the beginning of the punk of the city of New York. The following week brings Queen tribute band Cotton Bullets, as well as the sold out Enorock show. One of the highlights of the month has to be the legendary Jay-Jay Johanson on 18 February! Whilst the end of February sees more indie rock bands take the stage including Neverland Bari.
