If you are in search of a venue with good vibes and live music, then keep on reading because near the Àngel Guimerà metro station you will find the ‘Loco Club’ venue, which specialises in live music and hosts local as well as international groups and artists. Upon entrance, you are transformed into a vinyl-covered venue with the DJ booth on one side and a stage right across the dancefloor. Loco Club is set to host many other gigs that are then followed by DJs to keep the party going. The performances range from Rock ’n’roll to Indie, Country to Pop and Funk to Soul too. The majority of the bands tend to be in English as well.

At ‘Loco Club’, last weekend, ‘Michelle David & The True-tones’ knew how to deliver a brilliant night of classic soul on a buzzing and memorable Saturday night. With their upbeat rhythms, powerful vocals and hard-hitting melodies, the band’s instrumentation, characterised by rhythm-driven bass lines, and Michelle David’s powerful vocals really worked the ‘Loco Club’ audience!

The drumming was crisp throughout the show and the guitarists excelled with their tasty soul licks, and concise and incisive solos too. This band were really tight and could really play too. This is live soul music at its most authentic… catchy grooves and with a universal message to convey.  Michelle David is a force of nature as a singer and frontwoman…charismatic and empathetic at the same time. What a voice!  Within those seductive & timeless soul songs that just make you wanna dance the night away, there’s a ‘gospel’ vibe that is all about spreading positivity… in the face of the challenges that life can bring.

Michelle David (vocals), Paul Willemsen (guitar, bass), Onno Smit (guitar, bass) and Bas Bouma (drums) formed a tight-knit unit that seamlessly combined their individual talents, resulting in the distinctive sound that defines Michelle David & the True-tones. Featuring plenty of tracks from their new album ‘Brothers & Sisters’, Michelle David & the True-tones created a sonic journey that resonated with the soulful spirit of their live performances, inviting the audience to dance with them on a timeless musical journey. As singer Michelle reminded the joyful ‘Loco Club’ crowd: “You are powerful… and you are unique!”
