The Valencia Jazz Festival runs until July 27, guaranteeing a good time for all who enjoy summer nights with trumpets, saxophones, and a full array of unique sounds. Held mostly at the Palau de la Música right on the Túria, these concerts will not disappoint. At the Palau Gardens, free concerts will be held at 8:15 pm on June 12th and 25th. The 12th will feature the New Tango Sextet and the València Municipal Symphonic Band, and the 25th will showcase Ximo Tébar & The Champans.
Next up is the Sala Rodrigo, which will host Marquina Selfa Trio on July 1st and the Esther Andújar Group and Carles Denia & David Pastor on July 10th. Both concerts are at 7:30 pm, and tickets are €10.
At Sala Iturbi, there are 10 different concerts from July 2 to July 13, each beginning at 7:30 pm. Some of the first bands to be playing are Avishai Cohen Trio, Eliane Elias, and the València Orchestra with Pancho Flores. With tickets from €5 to €35, everyone can find the concert perfect for them. Also, look out for concerts by ANDREA MOTIS: Temblor and JULIAN LAGE and AL DI MEOLA ACOUSTIC TRIO. Indeed, ‘Al di Meola Acoustic Trio’ will be featuring local master percussionist and Berklee College of Music Faculty teacher Sergio Martinez!
In Castellar, the Sports Center, Palau will host Juan Saus & Martina Sabariego Big Band on July 19th and LatinSwing Sextet on the 20th. With free entry and a start time of 9pm, these concerts are not to be missed.
At Alqueria Coca, in La Torre, the Carlos Medina Quintet will play on July 26th and Plena 79 Salsa Orchestra will play on the 27th. These free-entry concerts will also begin at 9 pm.
With all these concerts in full swing and inspirations running high, if you find yourself interested in jazz and Latin Swing masterclasses, Sedajazz is the collective for you. They will be hosting classes at the València Municipal Music Conservatory “Jose Iturbi”, where they will cover jazz and Latin swing styles of music.
