24/7 VALENCIA: COULD YOU YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT THE BAND, ‘LA TROCAMBA MATANUSCA’?

LA TROCAMBA MATANUSCA:  “La Trocamba Matanusca was formed at the end of 2009 in the area of Ontinyent (la Vall d’Albaida) of La Comunitat Valenciana. What happened is that a group of us, who came from other bands with a wide variety of styles, got together to play Eastern European folk, Balkan music, Klezmer and Gypsy rhythms to see what could potentially come out of it.

Little by little, the family grew to complete the formation and in 2012 we presented our debut album, called ‘Balkan Gypsy del Bancal’, where we covered traditional songs and tracks from other European bands with the same outlook. In 2015 we released the album, ‘Mandoro i Boruca’ and in 2019 we released our latest album, ‘A Pic i Pala’.

Since then, we have been travelling around the most diverse of places, either on stage or in the middle of the night, in ‘Xaranga’ format with the ‘electrocarro’. This is a mobile music unit that allows the band to play amplified music with speakers on wheels as we move from Plaza to Plaza! Indeed, ‘24/7 Valencia’ team saw us play like this at ‘Feria de Julio’ of Valencia 2022. It was an impressive and diverse  crowd of people in the centro histórico!”
