‘Mamma Pizza’ has teamed up with Carlo Danna, former owner of the legendary Trattoria Da Carlo and a Valencian Gastronomic icon, to create a groundbreaking new pizza slice. It is called ‘Specktacular’ by Mamma Pizza Vol. I, and went through a rigorous development process perfected by Carlo Danna and the head chef of Mamma Pizza, Sergio Paolini.
‘Specktacular’ was chosen to compete in Pizza Combat, a national competition that aims to find the best pizza in all of Spain. The pizza is described as a base of tartufata cream, smoked scamorza, fior di latte mozzarella, cherry confit tomatoes, and, finally, cured speck from Trentino. Having already secured a spot among the top 18 best pizzas in Spain, Mamma Pizza hopes to clinch the top spot with this delicious slice.
Upcoming Pizza Combat Locations and Dates:
- Tarragona (April 4-13)
- Castellón (April 17-27)
- Toledo (April 30 – May 11)
- Madrid-San Sebastián de los Reyes (May 15-25)
Attendees at these events will vote for the best pizza. You can follow Mamma Pizza in the competition with the dates posted above.
Future Plans
Mamma Pizza also introduced its very own food truck during Fallas, and it is sticking around Valencia to bring more pizza to the streets. Along with their main flagship store, Mamma Pizza is expanding nicely across Valencia and hopes to spread its delicious pizza to as many people as possible.
