MUV!25 Brings Music to Life in Valencia’s Maritime Villages. The 7th annual MUV! Festival (Musica Urbana Valencia) was hosted over two days this past week, on Friday the 21st and Saturday the 22nd. The festival hosted 14 concerts at several venues across Valencia’s Cabanyal neighborhood, selling over 1500 tickets, including multiple sold-out shows.
MUV! strives to provide a unique experience through intimate and small-format concerts that hold 60-100 people. While this differs from large-scale music festivals, it ensures that artists and concertgoers get an experience that will result in lasting memories. MUV! also showcases a large variety of musical genres, from Jazz, Reggae, Arabic, Balkan & Cuban, and Classical to name a few.
Festival Highlights
Friday evening showcased the talents of the Federico Nathan Project, a sold-out show. The violinist’s talented musical style blends Jazz, Latin, Popular, and Classical music to create a homage to unique cultures around the globe. Friday evening also saw The Queen Bitches Project, a tribute to David Bowie, deliver an electrifying and exciting set.
The festivities stretched beyond music on Saturday morning as many businesses in the Cabanyal neighborhood opened their doors for family-friendly events and workshops. Some events included an illustration fair with classical music by Trío Atenea and a Cuban music interactive workshop, which taught 40 children the rich history of Cuban music.
As Saturday evening came around, performances were held across Cabanyal. Some of the shows included: Andrés Belmonte’s Arabic-Valencian fusion, Modo Libre’s Cuban rhythms, Los Trileros’ vintage rock, and Helen Helen’s punk-country-rock United States-Valencia fusion.
The festival ended with an exhilarating performance by Ay Trick, an international soul, funk, and hip-hop ensemble that left the crowd pumped up with excitement and energy.
Through the support of local businesses, sponsors, cultural institutions, and importantly, individuals, MUV!25 reaffirmed its importance within Valencia’s cultural landscape by creating a family-friendly, safe, diverse atmosphere for the community. The organizers eagerly anticipate the next edition in February 2026, continuing their mission to connect the community through the sound of music.
