NITS DE VIVERS (VALENCIA) FROM JULY 28 – AUGUST 12

Nits de Vivers collaborates with the Rebrot de l’Associació Àmbit.

The organisation promotes the employment of prisoners and ex-prisoners with serious problems through social and therapeutic agriculture.

Attendees can collaborate during the ticket purchase process and there is also a “fila cero” (zero queue).

The festival will kick off with ‘El Conciertazo Amstel’ with the presence of Fuel Fandango, El Columpio Asesino and Ley Dj

The Nits de Vivers cycle collaborates with the Rebrot project of the Àmbit Association, an organisation that has been working with prisoners and ex-prisoners for almost three decades. With this initiative, the organisation contributes to the development of the capacities of vulnerable people with serious problems (mental illness, drug addiction, etc.) through work on a social farm.  Those who want to contribute to the continuity of this programme can make a contribution of €2 during the purchase of a ticket for each of the festival’s shows. In addition, anyone can make a donation through a “fila cero”, even if they do not attend a concert. It should also be noted that part of the proceeds from the sale of reusable cups will go to this initiative.

Thanks to the Rebrot project, groups that find it difficult to enter the world of work can find employment or access therapeutic and social integration processes. The activities take place in a farm lent by collaborators and located in Partida de Dalt de Campanar (Valencia). In this way, participants can lead an independent life while improving their physical and mental health. Finally, it should be taken into account that, in the present socio-economic context, social agriculture has emerged as a tool for social innovation, closely related to collective action, cohesion and the interaction of people with local resources.

Nits de Vivers: eleven dates with pop, rock, singer-songwriters and family music

The Nits de Vivers cycle will begin on Thursday 28 July with ‘El conciertazo Amstel’. The stars of this evening will be Fuel Fandango, a duet that will preview the songs from their EP Romances, where they once again fuse pop, electronica, flamenco, African rhythms, folk and bossa nova; El Columpio Asesino, one of the most important alternative pop-rock bands; and Ley Dj, a Valencian DJ who mixes indie and dance rhythms in her sessions. Access to this concert will be by means of an invitation that can be obtained with the consumption of different Amstel drinks.

On Friday 29th it will be the turn of Santero y Los Muchachos, a local rock band that will be releasing their third album, Royal Cantina, where their electric and acoustic sides come together. The quintet will be accompanied by Is.las, also from Valencia, a trio that plays catchy pop with lyrics that deal with everyday issues, love and melancholy. In addition, the DJs Fat Gordon and Giorgio Bonetti will make the audience dance to the rhythm of rock.  Jorge Drexler, who will be performing on Saturday 30 July, will be more relaxed. The Uruguayan will return to Valencia to perform songs from his latest album, Tinta y tiempo, released a few months ago. The first week of the cycle will close with ¡Viva mi planeta! Puedes, tú puedes, the new show starring the CantaJuego characters in which the hits of the most successful children’s group of the last few decades will be performed.

A few days later, on Wednesday 3 August, the Jardines de Viveros will host the show Corazonadas with the voices of two women: Ana Torroja and Esther. The Madrid-born Ana Torroja is one of the great voices of Spanish pop and will demonstrate this in a concert in which she will perform the greatest hits of Mecano and songs from her solo career. On the other hand, Esther is a singer-songwriter from Vinaròs who has emerged as one of the most promising performers on the Valencian music scene with the EP Les teues ales. Another fundamental artist on the Spanish music scene, Loquillo, will be in València on Thursday 4 to review his discography and, especially, the songs from his most recent album, Diario de una tregua (Diary of a truce).

On Friday 5 August, the audience will be able to dance to the infectious melodies of La Casa Azul, Guille Milkyway’s band that has produced anthems such as “La revolución sexual”, “Podría ser peor” and “Nunca nadie pudo volar”. On the same night, Novio Caballo, a group from Castellón that draws from rock, punk and electronic music, will be performing. Guitars will also be the stars of the show Poetas del rock on Saturday the 6th. Local band Los Zigarros will show their live potential as they did on their latest release, ¿Qué demonios hago yo aquí? Opening the stage in the Jardines de Viveros will be Cherry & The Ladies, lovers of early rock’n’roll.

The last week of the festival will begin on Wednesday 10 August with Long Live The Queen, a tribute to the legendary band led by Freddie Mercury. Its four members will recreate the best songs of the British band with a spectacular staging. On the other hand, Thursday the 11th is reserved for the mestizo rhythms of Muchachito Bombo Infierno. The Catalan is preparing a new album and stage show under the name Rumba ‘N’ Orleans and has already offered a taste of what awaits us with the song “El bailarín nocturno”. Finally, Nits de Vivers will host the concert This Is Michael on Saturday 12 August. This is the most internationally successful tribute to Michael Jackson and features Lenny Jay, chosen for the role by the King of Pop’s own family.
