‘TÁNDEM. DIÁLOGO FLAMENCO’ ON 15 JULY AT ‘TEATRE TALIA’ (VALENCIA)

Artistic director Juan de Pilar uses the tandem as a metaphorical concept : a bicycle for two people sitting one behind the other, equipped with pedals for both. Together, they move in the same direction. In its language, the essence of flamenco is maintained and, taking music as its main element, a concept is developed that combines completely updated sounds in a sequential manner with live music. Daniel Caballero and Nerea Carrasco delve into the search for harmony between the present and the evolving tradition, bringing their perspectives to the rhythmic, musical, aesthetic, and, above all, deeply emotional aspects.

Daniel Caballero. A young dancer from Madrid who studied at the ‘Amor de Dios Dance Center’ with renowned maestros, Daniel Caballero works in iconic tablaos and venues across Spain. He is in demand to collaborate with artists such as Montse Cortés, Jerónimo Maya, Belén López, and Andrés Barrios, among others, on national and international stages and at festivals such as the Vejer Festival and Suma Flamenca.

Nerea Carrasco, a young dancer from Madrid, completed her Spanish dance studies at the Mariemma Royal Professional Dance Conservatory, earning an honorable mention. She later became a dancer at Amor de Dios and the La Truco Flamenco Institute. She was requested as a soloist at the Arles Flamenco Festival. She works in some of Spain’s most iconic tablaos and venues. She has been a semi-finalist on several occasions in the Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography Competition.
