At the end of May, Valencians will be able to enjoy a solidarity fair aimed at fulfilling the dreams of hospitalised children and young people to give them emotional support. This organisation has been working with hospitals in the region for 22 years and has already fulfilled the dreams of more than 1,500 little Valencian warriors. Between 29 and 31 May, the Pequeño Deseo Foundation will celebrate its XXV Anniversary with a charity fair in the Mercado de Colón in Valencia in which more than 30 brands of fashion, costume jewellery, children’s items and many more products will participate. The money from the organisation of the market will go entirely to the projects of Pequeño Deseo in the Valencian Community.
The Foundation has been collaborating for 25 years with hospitals all over Spain to help children and adolescents with serious illnesses to realise their dreams, as a form of emotional support. Since its inception, it has fulfilled more than 7,300 wishes, of which 1,522 have been in Valencia, where it has been present for 22 years, a figure that also includes children from Murcia and Albacete attended to from the community in four centres: the Hospital La Fe, the Hospital Clínico de Valencia, the Hospital General de Alicante and the Hospital Lluis Alcanyís de Játiva.
According to Marta Miró, delegate of the Pequeño Deseo Foundation in Valencia: “It is a joy to participate in the flea market again, due to the great work of visibility that it involves and the participation of a large number of companies that are aware of this mission. We also encourage Valencians to come and spend an enjoyable day while at the same time collaborating with a good cause”.
The fair will be held at the Mercado de Colón in Valencia (C/ Jorge Juan 19) on 29, 30 and 31 May, and will be open non-stop between 11:00h and 20:30h.
About the Fundación Pequeño Deseo
The Pequeño Deseo Foundation has been working since 2000 to make the wishes of children with serious and chronic illnesses come true, in order to support them emotionally and make their illness more bearable. It has been scientifically proven that the fulfilment of a wish generates positive emotions in the child that have an enormous effect on their wellbeing and their immediate environment. In all these years we have already granted more than 7,000 wishes.
