The ‘Portolito Group’ consolidates its presence on Las Arenas Beach with its rice and grilled dishes

‘Portolito Playa’ and ‘La Mar’, the two Valencian-inspired establishments the group owns on the seafront, are celebrating their anniversary. The restaurant group Portolito has established itself on Valencia’s Playa de las Arenas with its two gastronomic offerings, ‘Portolito Playa’ and ‘La Mar’. Both feature rice dishes, while the latter also features grilled meats. This is a commitment to Valencian DNA, tradition, and local produce, at a time when quality and authenticity are in the spotlight.

Furthermore, this year marks Portolito Playa’s tenth anniversary in the city . La Mar, for its part, just celebrated its first anniversary. Two closely linked offerings, both aesthetically and culinary, continue to strengthen their image on Valencia’s seafront with recently updated menus that highlight a wide variety of rice dishes, grilled dishes, and even breakfast

Sea and gastronomy

With the arrival of good weather, the maritime area increases its influx considerably. It is in this setting that Grupo Portolito establishes itself as a sure-fire option for those looking for an authentic Mediterranean experience. The cuisine at both establishments—located next to each other—is nonstop , allowing you to enjoy a lunch or dinner overlooking the sea, as well as a sunset cocktail or dinner at nightfall. Their dishes are typical of Valencian cuisine, traditional with a touch of creativity. As for Portolito Playa ‘s updated menu , which focuses more on rice dishes and tapas, highlights include:

🌊 The black fideuá with shrimp and garlic mayonnaise , freshly made and prepared with fresh, seasonal produce.

🌊 Grilled artichokes with cured yolk and crispy ham, also available in a vegetarian option.

🌊 Or the stuffed eggplant with a smooth almond béchamel and pecorino gratin.

Portolito Playa seats 90 people and offers both a terrace and a covered dining room. Thanks to its open-plan layout, the latter allows the sun and sea breeze to penetrate the interior. Beyond its menu, which has been updated for its tenth anniversary, Portolito Playa offers several menus. First, there’s the daily menu, which is served Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Second, there’s the Portolito Menu for lunch, featuring recipes such as Las Arenas Russian salad or Valencian paella with chicken and rabbit. The Malvarrosa Menu for dinner—available for vegetarians—includes salmorejo with Galician bread croutons and ham shavings, and Duroc pork shoulder cooked at a low temperature with sautéed spring garlic, among other dishes. And don’t forget the breakfast menu , which offers ten sandwiches.

In the adjacent restaurant, La Mar by Portolito , which can accommodate up to 70 people in its dining room. A dining room with large windows and a skylight, which allows natural light to flow into the room, whose wall is covered with an original school of fish. And what about their menu, which has also been updated?

⚓️ Grilled meats, fish, and vegetables , such as the 400-gram braised sea bream or the 30-day-aged New York Steak.

⚓️ La Huerta paella , prepared with seasonal and local products.

⚓️ The sweet touch is provided by desserts such as the fartón torrija with pistachio cream and horchata ice cream.

A menu complemented by the daily menu and the La Mar Menu at lunchtime, which features the Senyoret rice with seasonal fish and green curry mussels with fresh cheese and aromatic herbs. At dinner, they offer the Las Arenas Menu , with similar dishes but with a distinctive touch: they are grilled. The group’s two culinary offerings also offer the option of designing special menus for groups.

“We have a proven track record and roots, our Valencian roots, that reinforce everything we do,” emphasizes Manu Ragull, CEO of Grupo Portolito. Two experiences in one, he adds, “in a privileged setting, the beach, where you can eat very well.”
