‘WHAT’S ON’ THIS LONG WEEKEND IN VALENCIA?

Scheduled events you can keep an eye out for this weekend in Valencia! There’s something for everyone in Valencia, and this weekend is no exception. From Thursday to Sunday, we have outlined some of the best events to check out for a fun-filled weekend.

Shows at Radio City

Radio City is a space where music, art, and culture come together to form the club that it is today. Here, the club offers dance, film, live music, exhibitions, book presentations, and more. On THURSDAY, 10 APRIL, you can head down to Radio City in Central Valencia for a midnight DJ session with DJ Razz. On FRIDAY, 11 APRIL, The Pulse of The Streets by BSU will be performing for a hip-hop show. Entrance is between €8-€10. SATURDAY, 12 APRIL, there will be a reggae vinyl presentation show by El Rumbero Jamaicano, Jah Macetas, and Old Stars DJ set. Also on SATURDAY, ‘Burning Souls’ will be performing with a rock/pop show, €7-€10 entrance fee. SUNDAY, 13 APRIL, Andre Walker, Peter Connolly + invitados will be performing a Sunday Funk Jam, with free entrance!

Flamenco at Cafe del Duende

At Café del Duende, all love flamenco, and it is the place to be this weekend for fiery shows of traditional dance. The café-bar is the authentic home of flamenco in Valencia and is a benchmark for flamenco in the city. Located a 5-minute walk from the Quart Towers and 10 minutes from the Serranos Towers, this centrally located venue is easy to get to. On THURSDAY, 10 APRIL, Lidia Reyes and Daniel de Francisco will be dancing flamenco; with doors opening at 8:00 p.m. FRIDAY, 11 APRIL and SATURDAY, 12 APRIL Lidia and Daniel will be performing again with doors opening at 8:30 p.m. The duo will have their last performance of the weekend on SUNDAY, 13 APRIL, with doors opening at 7 p.m.

Shows at La Filmoteca

Looking for a relaxing night with your feet kicked back and an original version show on the screen? Search no further! La Filmoteca has you covered for the weekend. THURSDAY, 10 APRIL, La Filmoteca presents “Gallipoli: End of the Road” at 6:00 p.m., “Parts of the Tongue” and “Rage” at 8:00 p.m. FRIDAY, 11 APRIL, “Pandora’s Box” screens at 6:00 p.m., with “The Abbess” following at 8:00 p.m. SATURDAY, 12 APRIL, “Paddington” will be shown at 6:00 p.m. (with free admission for children under 14), with the following movies screening at 8:00 p.m.: “Excursions”, “Barbie Can Also Be Sad”, and “I Don’t Want to Go Back Home”. To wrap up a weekend of movies, on SUNDAY, 13 APRIL, “Paddington” will air again at 6:00 p.m., with “The Lamb” playing later at 8:00 p.m.

The Jimmy Glass Jazz Bar

This small, cozy bar is an intimate option for listening to live jazz music in the heart of the Carmen neighborhood in Valencia. The bar is low-lighting and narrow to allow for the most authentic listening experience. On FRIDAY, 11 APRIL & SATURDAY, 12 APRIL “Quiet” – the JP Balcázar Trio will be performing at 10:15 p.m., doors open at 9:15 p.m. The trio is led by JP Balcázar, a prolific and versatile musician from Barcelona. Entry is €15 per attendee.

t IVAM (Valencian Institute of Modern Art)

At IVAM, you can find modern and contemporary art, a cultural flagship of the Valencian community. This was the first modern art museum in Spain and houses eight galleries, ranging from historical avant-garde movements of 1914 to contemporary works of today. At the museum, you can find a bookshop, cafe, store, and ticket office. This weekend, the museum is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day, and until 8:00 p.m. on Friday. General admission is €5, with free admission all day on Sunday!
