During the opening ceremony at La Marina, the President of IBM for Spain, Horacio Morell, stated that, “From these facilities, we [IBM] will connect talent, technology, and the ecosystem to help companies accelerate the adoption of cutting-edge solutions in AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and automation.”
Morell agreed with the Mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, in calling Valencia the leading digital hub of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region. To continue that legacy, IBM will establish more jobs using the European IBM Sales Accelerator Program, which allows for those interested in technology to receive high-class training while being immersed in the work of the center. IBM hopes to raise up those in Valencia by providing a space for innovation and development, using the talent of those who already live and work in the area.
With La Marina as the backdrop, IBM is cementing Valencia and Spain as a place for entrepreneurship, new ideas, and great technological advancements after almost a full century of IBM’s presence in Spain. And now that IBM’s centre in the hub is officially open as of today, Valencia can see a brighter horizon for technology and entrepreneurship coming its way.
