Fancy getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city? Then head over to the scenic ‘L’Albufera’, a calm oasis of beaches, a lagoon and nature. Just 10km from the centre of Valencia, L’Albufera is easily reached by car or the number 25 bus from the city centre of Valencia, and the bus takes you right to the Albufera lake front. Once there, you can buy tickets (€5) for a boat ride across the large fresh water lagoon spanning more than 2,500 hectares! Take a wander through the natural park, where you will be surrounded by woods and paddy fields, to witness nature in its purest form. It is an area of high ecological value and a natural habitat for many species of native and migratory birds. There’s also a perfect place for sunbathing on the Playa del Saler, where you can experience crystal clear waters and white sandy beach fronts! Afterwards, you can enjoy a traditional paella at one of the waterfront restaurants whilst gazing at the magnificent views. A wonderful day out for everyone!
