Traditional Pub Of The Month

Finnegan’s of Dublin opened in October of 1995 and was the first Irish pub of the city. It is set in the beautiful Plaza Reina, in the heart of the historic centre of the city. Finnegan’s is twinned with the famous Finnegans of the Dublin area, in the pretty city of Dalkey.

In Valencia, Finnegan’s is the ideal place to have a mellow lunch for 8€ with friendly service or to share a few beers with your mates, enjoy a good match on the big screens or some live music at the weekend…

This is a little piece of Ireland that has been very much part of Valencian nightlife for more than 20 years and has recently become reformed & renovated with more and more options to choose from.

These choices include concerts, sports events and the authentic atmosphere of an Irish pub. They have widened their ample carta with delicious homemade dishes that are “made in Ireland” as well as fun entertainment including monologues, quiz and intercambio language evenings…

They also have a private area, known as the “BACK BAR” with a bar with space for 100 people to organize parties, private dinners, reunions and business events. For more information regarding prices, please contact Finnegan’s. They have wifi free for all customers.

Members of the 24/7 Valencia team have enjoyed endless afternoons and evenings at Finnegans over the years. Just last week, we popped in on a sunny Wednesday afternoon to chat with friendly & worldly owner Jorge and the experienced and informed head of staff, Paul from Ireland, who is a really good bloke.

With an ample terrace, we decided to try their 8€ lunch in the pleasant sunshine. We ordered homemade fries, which were crisp & tasty and with no oil or extra fat. Our burger of the day was a memorable combination of bacon, beef and lettuce which we savoured with the palm trees and cathedral in view. It was served with a sesame seed bread and in a attractive newspaper-style wrapping, cradled in a little basket. Yes, you can read the newspaper stories too!

Our lunch came with a beer of Fosters and we chilled out por la tarde, people watching and getting slowly tanned! Although not included on the menu, the very helpful & kindly staff suggested we try their “Guinness Cake”, which was a bizcocho cake with chocolate and some Guinness plus vanilla ice cream that made for a bitter-sweet postre to round off an enjoyable day out at sunny Finnegan’s…
