RE: Free duet concert between Oud Player Aliya Cycon and Colombian singer-songwriter Lili del Sol “Las Penas Se Van Cantando”. When: Thursday Feb 5th at 19:00h. Where: Centro Cultural Reina 121. The beloved annual MUV Festival of Valencia will kick off its 2026 cycle of concerts with an art exhibition at Centro Cultural Reina 121 in Cabanyal, under the theme of “Las Penas Se Van Cantando (Sorrows Go Away with Singing)” featuring the work of local artists. Cycon and Sol will be performing a duet concert as an inauguration to the exposition, following the same uplifting theme.
The concert will blend the South-American influenced originals of Lili del Sol with the original Arabic-inspired music of Aliya Cycon to create a truly unique night of musical exploration and collaboration. The two singing and stringed-instrument strumming artists have much in common: they both write their own music as well as make creative covers of folkloric songs from the geographical regions that inspire them most. Both have been performing their music in the Valencia area for many years and have accrued their own followings; they even have done guest appearances on each others’ concerts on multiple occasions. But this concert will be a special ‘first’ for Cycon and Sol as well as for their audience, as the community will gather to hear them use their talents and passions together to convey this timeless truth: las penas se van cantando.
