CIRCUIT VIU! PROMOTING THE RETURN OF LIVE MUSIC IN THE VALENCIA REGION

The ‘Circuit Viu!’ is born to boost live music venues in the Valencian Region

A total of 21 concerts will take place in the venues of the Comunitat to promote club culture with a diverse programme.

The initiative is promoted by the Asociación de Salas En Viu!

ALACANT – CASTELLÓ – VALÈNCIA. The Valencian Association of Live Music Venues En Viu! launches the ‘Circuit Viu!’, a series of concerts to boost the music sector, promote club culture and the return of the public to music venues.

Circuit Viu!’ is heir to the project ‘Viu. Cap estiu sense música’, an initiative that in 2020 boosted the live music sector in the face of the paralysis of activity caused by Covid-19, programming shows by Valencian groups.

With an expanded circuit format that reaches 18 venues in the Comunitat, the ‘Circuit Viu!’ aims to establish itself as a stable annual cycle that allows to influence and boost the various sectors of the Valencian music industry: artists, managers and venues. After a long period of instability in on-site cultural activity, this project aims to reactivate the activity of recognised and new Valencian artists and combine them with groups from other parts of Spain. It also aims to support the network of private venues in the Valencian Community. Clubs and music halls are the places par excellence where groups form and matureas musicians. The vast majority of bands that currently take part in major festivals got their start in music venues.

A diverse and equal programme
The programme has taken into account criteria of musical quality, stylistic variety, parity of genre and diversity of geographical origin. Circuit Viu!’ is similar to other similar initiatives such as the GPS (Girando Por Salas) circuit.

This circuit also aims to stress the importance of public-private formulas and collaborative models to boost cultural activity. In this sense, ‘Circuit Viu!’ has the collaboration of the Institut Valencià de Cultura and the València City Council.
