The 5th International Horn Congress in Guadassuar will hold its press conference next Tuesday, December 23rd, at 10:00 AM at the Guadassuar Cultural Centre (Placeta de les Monges, 2, 46610 Guadassuar, Valencia).
Guadassuar will once again become the international epicentre of the horn with the celebration of the 5th International Horn Congress (CITGUAD), which will take place from December 28th to 30th, 2025. This fifth edition will bring together more than one hundred students, enthusiasts, and professionals of this distinctive brass instrument.
The congress will offer a comprehensive program of masterclasses, workshops, lectures, and concerts, featuring renowned national and international performers and educators from Spain, France, Sweden, Germany, and the United Kingdom. These include horn players from orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, as well as members of prestigious ensembles and specialists in physical well-being, instrument making, and instrumental technique.
In addition to musical workshops, CITGUAD will incorporate activities focused on the physical and mental health of musicians, such as yoga, Qigong, and meditation, as well as lectures on mouthpieces and the history of the prestigious Paxman brand. The congress also maintains its commitment to early training with the CITGUAD Junior programme, aimed at young horn players.
The artistic programme will include four concerts, which this year will be held in the Sala Cotonera in Guadassuar, as the municipal auditorium cannot be used following the damage caused by the 2024 DANA storm. Highlights include the opening concert with the CITGUAD Orchestra, a chamber music concert, a traditional fanfare in the Plaça de la Generalitat, and the closing concert with the Societat Unió Musical Santa Cecilia de Guadassuar, culminating in a joint performance of the finale of Mahler’s Fifth Symphony.
Established as a key event on the musical scene, CITGUAD further strengthens Guadassuar’s cultural and international profile through the French horn.
