Javier García, first rower of the Comunitat Valenciana to qualify for the Paralympics

Javier García is a 28-year-old rower who belongs to the Torrevieja Rowing Club and the Rowing Federation of the Valencian Community. He has also been part of the national Para-Rowing team on several occasions for European and world regattas.

Last April, after the success in the European Championship in Szeged (Hungary), the rower from Torrevieja got the ticket to compete in the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, becoming the first rower of the Comunitat Valenciana to qualify for the Paralympics.

Since this week, Javier is already in Paris training for the classifications that will take place on Friday at 30 August, leading to the pass to the finals on Saturday 31, events that will proclaim the medallists of ‘Para Rowing’ in Paris 2024.

At 10:10 am on Friday morning, the PR1 Men’s Single Sculls, the category in which Javier García competes, will take place. On Saturday 31st, also at 10:10 am, the repechages will take place.

The Paralympic rowing medallists will be announced on Sunday 1 September, with the finals starting at 9:50 am with the B Final and at 11:30 am with the A Final.
