The Valencian festival, Love to Rock, offers the unique gastronomic experience, Love to Food, alongside its musical lineup on October 13 – October 14. Renowned chefs, including Michelin-starred María José Martínez and Germán Carrizo, as well as Vicente Patiño, Alejandro Platero, and Ismael Cano, will showcase their culinary skills at the festival. The event aims to combine high-quality cuisine with music from artists such as Viva Suecia, Lori Meyers, Quique González, and Second. The festival will take place at La Marina de València. Love to Rock recently held a party at the Hard Rock Café in València, featuring performances by Semana Santa and D.J. Fat Gordon. During the event, exciting novelties were revealed for the festival in four months’ time.
Valencia’s Love to Rock festival continues its successful ‘Love to Food’ gastronomic experience, offering high-quality cuisine at affordable prices. Renowned chefs, rarely seen outside their kitchens, will cook live, using high-quality ingredients and haute cuisine techniques. The festival aims to break away from fast food stereotypes, providing attendees with a unique opportunity to enjoy fine dining alongside the music.
The chefs and the cuisine
María José Martínez of the Michelin-starred Lienzo Restaurant will bring to the festival her cuisine based on organic and local products, including honey from urban beehives recovered in Valencia.
Germán Carrizo, with Michelin-starred Casa de Comidas Doña Petrona and Fierro restaurant, brings his creative gastronomic proposal to Love to Food. From Argentina’s family traditions to Mediterranean influences, he crafts flavorful dishes with diverse perspectives.
Vicente Patiño brings traditional cuisine such as pickles, salted meats, vegetables, all kinds of fish and seafood, game and rice. His dishes arrive at the table accompanied by starters that show that creativity does not have to be at odds with traditional cuisine.
Alejandro Platero offers from the restaurant that bears his name ‘an ode to tradition and good rice dishes’. In the festival, guests can taste some of his dishes that have rice as the main body of the dish, a culinary experience that surprises spoonful after spoonful of flavour and tradition and that takes the diner to the origins.
Ismael Cano is, in addition to being a lover of good produce, a specialist in grilling and smoking techniques. During his time as chef de partie at Ricard Camarena restaurant, he developed his Maillard project, which focuses on solving the problem of charcoal distribution to restaurants. Ismael will join in the elaborations of the above mentioned chefs to create a tandem of cooking with coals.
There are still chefs to join Love to Food and they will be unveiled, along with the complete gastronomic program and schedules. In addition to this high-level culinary proposal, there will also be a variety of other options with the best Food Trucks in Valencia.
Love to Rock’s musical line-up
Valencia’s final festival date will feature Viva Suecia, Lori Meyers, Quique González, Joe Crepúsculo, Second, Cariño, Jimena Amarillo, Shinova, Los Invaders, Anabel Lee, and The Levitants. DJ sessions by Fran Lenaers, Ley DJ, Fat Gordon, and more will also be included. Three artists, including the Emerging Bands Contest winner, will be announced in July.
Love to Rock is also a festival aimed at families where the little ones are welcome to enjoy live music and the experience of their first musical event. In the Love to Kids area, activities will be programmed especially for this younger audience.
