MACARFI GUIDE REPORT RECOMMENDS RESTAURANTS IN VALENCIA

The Macarfi restaurant guide has announced the restaurants that have made their way into their 2024 guide. Since 2015, in an evaluation of 3500 restaurants, the Macarfi Guide has aimed to show some of the best food Spain has to offer in what is to be its 9th edition judged by over 2000 experts. The award ceremony, which was held in Malaga, included several of Valencia’s best restaurants.

The Macarfi Guide aims to categorise restaurants across several categories e.g. the best restaurant for tapas, the most romantic restaurants and so forth, certainly a very useful thing to have as cupid readies his bow in spring! Some of the restaurants from Valencia featured included Dalima, the roaring tiger keeping Valencia’s culinary scene on its toes, showcasing some of the finest food from Peru. Dalima was started by Javier Calduch and Richi Goachet in 2022, who are Spanish and Peruvian respectively, earning themselves through much hard work a Repsol Solete in 2023.

The next Valencian institution to be bestowed the honour of Macarfi was the wine bar Vinorte. Located in La Roqueta, Vinorte presents itself as an authentic place where one can relax with some of the best wines available in its arsenal out of anywhere in Valencia. It was started in 2022 by César Martin and Iria Lado as a passion project for people to pursue their love for wine and its provenance. A fanciful place where the staff will be sure to deduce your wine preferences and should you desire a fine array of cured meats, preserves, tapas and their own personally selected cheese as an accompaniment.

The Valencian stars of the show ranking themselves within the top 50 were Dos Estaciones who came 20th within the guide for their ethos on sustainability and focus on local produce and Kibo, the restaurant that brings Japan to the Mediterranean ranking 39th.
