Every Tuesday morning from 9am, in the ‘C/ Convento Jerusalén’ area of Valencia, the streets start to fill with people from all walks of life. From the old to the young, locals to tourists, all are on the hunt for a bargain at the open-air flea market. The busy hustle and bustle is balanced with a friendly and good-natured atmosphere. At the market you can find many clothes, both new and pre-loved, catering to all shapes and sizes, as well as plants, bags, accessories, and home items. The prices are impressive with many clothes costing only around €1. Make sure to keep an eye out for the many designer brands and vintage items as you rummage through the rails. The market itself is set amongst the beautiful and colourful buildings of the centre, a convenient location with several modes of public transport stopping close to the train station, making it very accessible. It’s a great place to treasure hunt and experience the local culture. With so many stalls to search through, make sure to grab a cold drink or a coffee afterwards in this cosmopolitan and down-to-earth barrio.
