HELADOS ESTIU EXCEEDS 33 MILLION LITRES OF ICE CREAM SOLD

The company increases its workforce by 36% and invests 13 million euros.  The Valencian company Helados Estiu closed the 2021 financial year with 33 million litres of ice cream sold and a turnover of 88 million euros. The profit was 5.4 million euros and the workforce increased by 36%. With an investment of more than 31 million euros in the new factory and a reinvestment in 2021 of 13 million euros, the human team has been fundamental to guarantee the supply, food safety and quality of its products. In 2019, it began exporting and is now present in more than 20 countries.

The Valencian ice cream maker consolidated 71 new jobs, an increase of 36% compared to 2020, reaching a total of 266 employees. After completing the construction of its new factory in Cheste, with the installation of new technologically advanced lines and an investment of more than 31 million euros, last year it reinvested again and did so with more than 13 million euros to continue increasing capacity. Today, the Valencian company is already manufacturing in its two plants in Cheste and Ribarroja de Túria, achieving sales of more than 33 million litres of ice cream.

In the current financial year, challenges have not ceased to occur, with a very tense raw material market with rising prices and a constant increase in energy and logistics costs. Despite the difficulties, Mercadona’s supplier has not stopped investing and has worked, and continues to do so, to pass on these cost increases to the consumer as little as possible.

Investment in R&D&I is always a constant in order to satisfy customer demands and offer better quality and new products. The novelty for 2022, which is having great success, is the “mini boom”, an ice cream with a toasted milk flavour, soft hazelnut paste coating and chopped biscuit. An explosion of flavours that is surprising everyone, even the youngest, and which can be found in Mercadona.

One of Helados Estiu’s objectives and goals is to provide a coherent response to those activities related to the Environment, Quality and Food Safety. Sustainable growth is a premise and at the moment they are working on an energy management system to reduce consumption, as well as on a photovoltaic plantation in both Cheste and Ribarroja del Turia.
