The coastal town of Calpe welcomed a new gem to its culinary scene with the grand opening of the O-B Coctelería by Paradiso on 26 June. This new cocktail bar proved to be an instant hit among the guests, transforming the opening into an evening to remember. Renowned worldwide for its excellence, Paradiso Cocktail Bar, featured in the World’s 50 Best Bars list, has joined with the esteemed Orobianco Italian restaurant. The O-B Coctelería is set to become a favourite destination, where guests can savour exceptional cocktails and indulge in the finest culinary delights in Calpe.
On the opening night of 26 June, guests were greeted with an ambience that exuded elegance and poise as soon as the doors were opened. The design of the terrace was modern, sophisticated and luxurious, with a fully stocked bar and various seating options. The real highlight, however, was the sweeping views over the beautiful Calpe and a vista of the Mediterranean Sea. Bang in the middle of the coastline view is the iconic Peñón de Ifach, or Calpe Rock, which guests can look over as they enjoy their drinks.
The opening night showcased the bartenders’ artistry as they skillfully prepared signature cocktails from the Coctelería’s menu, their movements fluid and well-practised. Patrons enjoyed a unique blend of flavours from tangy citrus notes to the smoky undertones, each sip a delight for the taste buds. There were interesting twists on well-known cocktails, such as the Margarita, Old Fashioned and Espresso Martinis, plus the bar’s own concoctions.
The service was impeccable, the views stunning, but the star of the show was undoubtedly the cocktails themselves. The menu for the night was directed by founder of Paradiso Barcelona, Giacomo Giannott and bartender Raúl Rodríguez. The talented mixologists at O-B Coctelería by Paradiso concocted an eclectic menu that pushed the boundaries of creativity. From classic favourites with a twist to innovative creations, each drink was a masterpiece, crafted with precision and passion.
Guests were invited to participate in a mysterious game throughout the course of the evening in an attempt to discover the ‘Lost Cocktail’. An entertaining night of dissecting clues, identifying flavours and working within teams to discover the cocktail and receive a prize at the end of the night.
The ‘Lost Cocktail’ was none other than the magnificent drink ‘Kriptonite’. Upon shutting off the lights, the cocktail was dramatically revealed to be coloured neon green, lit up by an electric coaster, and garnished with a delectable, spicy Sichuan flower. Guests were encouraged to consume the flower before trying the cocktail, creating an unforgettable taste and tingling sensation on the tongue. The Kriptonite cocktail was a perfect way to close the evening, leaving a lasting impression on the guests.
The public will be able to visit the bar every day of the week from 6.30 p.m. to 1.30 a.m, where the signature cocktails will be served. This new establishment promises an unforgettable experience for all who step through its doors.
