PREMIERE IN SPAIN – ‘A THOUSAND LEGENDS, ONE GRAIL’

24/7 VALENCIA: Could you tell us more about this documentary regarding the Holy Grail of Valencia?

MC AUDIOVISUALES DIRECTOR / PRODUCTOR MANUEL CABO SÁNCHEZ: Almost two years ago, we began filming —and with it, the journey— of the project A Thousand Legends, One Grail, a documentary that explores the reality behind the legends of the Grail. At the heart of the story lies the Holy Chalice of Valencia Cathedral, which serves as the guiding thread, along with all the art, culture, and history connected to it.

Through this, we discover incredible places, little-known stories and spaces, and works of art that, together with compelling narratives, will keep audiences captivated until the very end.

The city of Valencia is, of course, prominently featured in this documentary, as we will detail further below.

From MC Audiovisuales, we are pleased to announce that the documentary will finally premiere during the week of June 23, with a series of special screenings in 14 theatres across Spain.

The official premiere will take place on Monday, June 23 at Cines Embajadores in Madrid, followed by a Q&A session with the director and producer, Manuel Cabo.

On Tuesday, June 24, the documentary will be shown simultaneously in 11 additional theatres throughout Spain. That same day, a Q&A with the director will also be held at Cines Salera in Castellón.

The participating theaters and provinces on June 24 are:

  • SOM MULTIESPAI (Heron City – Barcelona)
  • MANOTERAS (Madrid)
  • SALERA (Castellón) – With Q&A session with the director
  • GRAN CASA (Zaragoza)
  • AS CANCELAS (A Coruña)
  • MAX OCIO (Bizkaia)
  • CAMAS (Seville)
  • PARC VALLÈS (Terrassa – Barcelona)
  • URBIL (Gipuzkoa)
  • PARQUE PRINCIPADO (Oviedo)
  • BAHÍA DE SANTANDER (Santander)

Following the multi-theatre screening on June 24, a special screening will be held on Tuesday, June 25 in the city of the Holy Chalice: Valencia, at Cines ABC Park. This will be the first screening in the home of the “Grail”.

Many of the project’s contributors will attend the Valencia premiere, which will also feature a Q&A with the director, Manuel Cabo.

Further screenings will be held on June 30 at Cines Bonaire and on July 2 once again at ABC Park.

Tickets for all sessions are already on sale via the respective cinema websites.

In the Valencian Community, the first screening will take place in Castellón, a province that plays a major role in the final cut of the film. Several scenes were shot in the castles of Alcalá de Xivert and Peñíscola, all tied to the story of the Templars, a deeply rooted presence in the region, and a key theme in A Thousand Legends, One Grail.

In Valencia, beyond showcasing the Holy Chalice and its home, the Cathedral, the documentary also features multiple historical and cultural sites linked to it: the remains of the Royal Palace, the Patriarch’s College, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Church of San Martín, among others — over 30 locations were used for filming.

It is a great honour for us to bring this documentary to so many cities as the beginning of its distribution journey, sharing with the public a cinematic perspective on a historical artifact as important as the Holy Chalice of Valencia Cathedral. Thank you for your attention. We look forward to hearing from you.
