Valencia, May 27, 2025 – The ‘Teatre Talía’ witnessed a memorable evening with the Grand Tango Gala, which brought the 7th Valencia International Tango Festival to a close. Under the production and artistic direction of Analía Bueti , renowned singer and Cultural Ambassador of Tango as an outstanding Argentine Country Brand, the event brought together seventeen artists on stage and a first-class technical team that captivated the audience with an evening of pure tango.
The packed Teatre Talía witnessed two intense hours of masterfully interweaving music, song, and dance. The gala was presented by two highly skilled masters of ceremonies, renowned radio hosts Vicente Alventosa and Ana Mar Vila, who introduced each performance with a relaxed and humorous tone, while maintaining the seriousness and respect required by an event of this magnitude.
The orchestra, conducted by maestro Fernando P. Herrera , was one of the evening’s main attractions. With only five musicians on stage, they achieved a sonic power and richness of interpretation that gave the impression of a much larger ensemble. Each measure was executed with masterful precision, creating an atmosphere that transported the audience to the grand Buenos Aires cafés and salons of classic tango.
The choreographies, performed by eight outstanding dancers, were seamlessly interspersed with the musical pieces, bringing dynamism and visual excitement to the show. Each performance was enthusiastically applauded by a dedicated audience, who responded with numerous cheers and standing ovations.
In the vocal section, the gala stood out for its stylistic diversity and interpretive excellence. The young artist Merlina Ilundain offered a contemporary take on the genre, combining the traditional sound of the bandoneon with her own compositions that reflect the tango of a new generation. Jimena González , meanwhile, gave us an impeccable performance of her show “Loca,” which stood out for its expressive power. Singer Lucas Yarza thrilled with a performance that paid homage to Carlos Gardel, awakening nostalgia for the most classic tango. And as the gala’s host, Analía Bueti , with her powerful voice, offered a series of performances that reaffirmed her central role in the Valencian tango scene: interpretations full of feeling, dedication, and a profound respect for the genre’s traditions.
Analía Bueti , the festival’s founder, has established this event as a must-attend event on Valencia’s cultural calendar, promoting tango not only as an artistic expression but also as a cultural bridge between Argentina and Spain. Thanks to her tireless work, the Valencia International Tango Festival continues to grow in quality, attendance, and impact.
The Grand Closing Gala not only successfully concluded this seventh edition, but also left the audience with high expectations and the desire to once again enjoy a show of this calibre. With its sights already set on the 2026 season, the city is preparing to continue being one of the great stages of international tango.
