Ryukishin, the Japanese restaurant specializing in authentic ramen, has officially opened a location in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (The Canary Islands). This is a significant milestone for the brand which first introduced ramen to Valencia, as it continues to build upon its strong reputation across Spain.
Origins of Ryukishin
First opened in 2016, it was one of the first restaurants to introduce high-quality, hand-made ramen to Valencia. Its owner Dan Shen Yan aims to introduce traditional Japanese ramen across Spain. Due to its growing popularity, a location in Castellón was opened, along with plans to open a second location in Valencia. As the brand continues to grow, it brings its signature flavours to the Canary Islands.
Atmosphere and Menu
The menu is a testament to the brand’s dedication to authentic cuisine, with dishes prepared using fresh, high-quality ingredients, while remaining affordable. Some notable items include:
Tori Paitan Ramen – A rich, creamy chicken broth with handmade noodles, topped with broccoli, red onion, scallions, and braised chicken. Ryukishin sources Japanese ingredients and prepares everything from scratch, ensuring seasonal freshness.
Gyozas – Available with chicken, vegetables, or cheese. The cheese gyozas are topped with cheddar sauce and Japanese mayonnaise for a unique flavour.
Katsu Don – A Japanese rice dish featuring crispy chicken katsu, lettuce, Japanese mayonnaise, teriyaki sauce, and nori seaweed.
Matcha Tiramisu – A fusion of Japan and Italy, this house-made dessert is crafted with matcha tea and almond milk.
They also offer a 100% vegan broth, to ensure they options regardless of dietary restrictions.
Ryukishin offers a complete sensory and cultural journey. The restaurant’s interior is inspired by traditional Japanese streets, featuring lanterns, traditional art, and banners. This carefully curated atmosphere transports diners straight to Japan, creating an extremely unique and worthwhile dining experience.
Future Plans
Following their launch in Las Palmas de Gran Canario, Dan Shen Yan has his sights set on further expansion across Spain. There are also plans to launch seasonal menu additions in the coming months. However, the current priority is establishing the restaurant’s strong presence in the Canary Islands and introducing people to the art of Japanese ramen.
