” Lo que el TANGO se lleva” is a moving and original tribute to Carlos Gardel and lyricist Alfredo Le Pera, two icons of tango. Through a staging that blends music, theatre, dance, and humor, the show recreates an imaginary encounter with Le Pera in a New York loft, where the characters explore his life and work with emotion and creativity. The duo’s most iconic songs are performed in new versions that connect with the audience’s soul.
The show combines comedy and emotion in a scenic journey that ranges from humor and celebration to the most poetic, nostalgic, and sentimental moments. Scenes of wildness and comical situations give way to a more intimate and reflective atmosphere, where themes such as loneliness and nostalgia are addressed. Tangos such as “Por una cabeza,” “Melodía de Arrabal, ” “Soledad,” “Lejana Tierra Mía,” and “Cuesta Abajo,” among others, accompany this emotional transformation, deepening the audience’s connection with the story and the music. The performance culminates with a moving rendition of “Volver ,” creating a spontaneous connection with the audience, who become part of the show. Directed by Analía Bueti and Juan Esteban Cuacci , artists internationally recognized for their commitment to Argentine culture, this production by Berretín de Buenos Aires is a unique artistic experience that celebrates the memory, art, and passion of tango in a lively and intimate way.
