The band of l’Eslava d’Albuixech offers 5 concerts at the JIWEF in Jeju (South Korea) and 2 in the Valencia region! The band of the Centre Instructiu Musical Eslava of Albuixech will travel to the island of Jeju (South Korea) this August to participate in the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival (JIWEF), in which every year international wind music ensembles and artists meet in those distant lands.
On August 9th, the Eslava will be the protagonist of the Spain Day at the JIWEF, in a concert in which Spanish Brass will also participate with the dancers Carmen Bejarano and David Nieto and the percussionist/guitarist Pablo Domínguez. From that day until the 13th of August, the Valencian group will take part in 5 concerts on different stages around the island with Les veus i vents d’Ibèria (The Voices and Winds of Iberia). This programme is a compilation of unique and recognisable music; the nationalist/costumbrista music of late 19th and early 20th century Spain, with fragments and passages from Zarzuela and Opera.
La Eslava will thus become the second Valencian and Spanish band to perform at this prestigious festival, after La Lira Castellonera de Castelló in 2019, which opened the way and began a bond of collaboration and mutual esteem between the two cultures.
The voices and winds of Iberia
La Eslava and the Lira Castellonera, with its choir, have joined forces to record a CD with this title. The two twinned groups will present the CD on July 8th in Albuixech (Valencia) in the brand new and impressive cycle “III JULIOL MUSICAL”, in the Plaça de la Llibertat in the town of l’Horta Nord at 23:00h. On July 9th the presentation events will continue in Castelló, València, at l’Auditori Rex at 20:00h. More information: 678 621 839
