Johnny Wehbe’s transition from the high-stakes world of finance to the delicate art of spinology reveals an inspiring tale of passion and purpose. A former rugby player and successful broker, Wehbe has redefined his life by embracing the philosophy of spinology, a discipline rooted in enhancing the body’s natural ability to heal and function.
Spinology views the human body as an extraordinary machine capable of self-healing when functioning optimally. Wehbe focuses on identifying and alleviating spinal blockages—“kinks in the hose”—to restore nerve communication and improve overall performance. Unlike traditional chiropractic practices, spinology emphasizes precision over force, relying on gentle impulses to guide the spine toward alignment.
“The beauty of spinology is in its specificity,” Wehbe explains. Adjustments are deliberate and targeted, with success measured by the body’s response rather than audible cracks or pops.
Wehbe’s journey began on the rugby field, where he cultivated a deep respect for the nervous system’s role in peak performance. However, when his rugby aspirations plateaued, he pivoted to finance, thriving in the fast-paced brokerage industry for 16 years. Yet, the allure of understanding and working with the human body never faded.
In 2021, a conversation with spinologist Benny Matthew reignited Wehbe’s curiosity. Inspired, he enrolled in a two-year certification programme under Enrique Bereda López, balancing studies with his demanding career. By 36, Wehbe took the leap, trading his suit and tie for the satisfaction of helping others achieve physical harmony.
Wehbe now operates practices in the UK and Valencia, Spain. While the UK branch flourished, the Valencia office faced initial hurdles, including language barriers and the DANA. Nevertheless, Wehbe’s determination has turned challenges into opportunities, expanding his impact across borders.
Wehbe’s rugby background informs his work with athletes, particularly gymnasts and those recovering from concussions. He has seen firsthand how spinal adjustments enhance performance and recovery, likening the process to unlocking the body’s full potential.
Looking ahead, Wehbe plans to collaborate with his wife, a yoga and sound therapy practitioner, to develop holistic wellness retreats. Together, they aim to create spaces that nurture physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
For Johnny Wehbe, spinology isn’t just a profession; it’s a calling. By blending science, philosophy, and a deep respect for the body, he helps clients achieve balance and vitality. His story is a testament to the transformative power of following one’s passion and the profound impact of spinal health on overall well-being.
