‘COOL MOVE’ WELLNESS AND RECOVERY CENTRE IN VALENCIA!

This is Spain’s first dedicated contrast therapy studio, built for athletes and built to last. COOL MOVE opened in Valencia at the end of 2024 and has spent a year and a half proving that recovery deserves the same discipline as training. COOL MOVE started with a simple observation: everyone was talking about ice baths and saunas, but nowhere in Spain offered a dedicated, expert-led space to do both properly. Hannah Hodkinson founded COOL MOVE in Valencia at the end of 2024 as the first studio in the country built solely around contrast therapy — roughly a year ahead of the studios now following in Barcelona and Madrid. The concept is simple: Finnish sauna (around 85°C), infrared sauna (around 50°C), and a precision-controlled cold plunge (3–12°C), used in circuit. It’s a vascular workout — heat and cold alternating to reduce inflammation, speed recovery, and reset the nervous system. The science is well established. COOL MOVE’s contribution was building the first serious room for it in Spain.

The core offers
The studio’s primary session is simple: one hour, sauna and cold plunge, €22. It’s the fastest, most complete way to recover and reset — alternating heat and cold in a single circuit reduces muscle soreness and inflammation, triggers a real dopamine and mood lift, calms the nervous system for better sleep, and leaves you sharper and more resilient to stress. Sixty minutes, full benefits. Members are encouraged to come twice a week for the effects to compound. First-timers start with the Intro Pack — three sessions for €45.

What makes it stand out
– A real community. COOL MOVE has built one of Valencia’s largest gatherings of wellness enthusiasts — people who show up regularly and know each other by name.

– A space designed to feel good. Calm, considered, and unhurried — the environment itself is part of the recovery.

– Brand partnerships. COOL MOVE collaborates with sports and wellness brands across Valencia, plugging members into a wider network of the city’s active community.

– The ritual. Every session closes with tea, not a rushed exit.

– Beyond the plunge. A regular calendar of breathwork, networking mornings and social
sessions extend the experience past the sauna and the cold.

Why it matters
COOL MOVE’s core client is the sportsperson — runners, footballers, tennis players, Hyrox athletes — using contrast therapy the way they’d use any other recovery tool: deliberately, and as part of training. That’s the studio’s main lens and the reason the programming is built around sport-specific protocols and event-timed sessions. But the science behind hot-cold therapy isn’t exclusive to athletes, and neither is the studio. A meaningful share of the community walks in with no training plan at all — people simply looking to sleep better, manage stress, or feel physically better day to day. COOL MOVE was built for that person too. It’s recovery as a discipline, built primarily for performance, open to anyone who wants in.

From the founder
“COOL MOVE started a year and a half ago with one idea: share the benefits of contrast therapy. Once I felt what it did for me, I was convinced — this shouldn’t be niche, it should be part of how everyone experiences recovery. What’s meant the most since opening isn’t the ice or the heat, it’s the community that’s formed around it. Every day I see new friendships start here, and that’s why I put everything into building this space: somewhere people can heal, recover and reset together.” — Hannah Hodkinson, Founder of COOL MOVE

Founder background: Before COOL MOVE, Hannah spent 10+ years in CMO and other leadership roles across a range of industries, and previously built one startup from the ground up. She’s also a breathwork practitioner, which shapes COOL MOVE’s guided sessions. COOL MOVE is a women-led business, with Hannah at the helm of a team built to make first-timers feel as comfortable as regulars.

The invitation
COOL MOVE sits right beside the Río Turia — ideal for runners, cyclists, or anyone who loves a walk in nature before or after a session. Think of it as a third place: come straight from work,
spend an hour in what’s shaping up to be Spain’s best recovery studio, meet good people, and leave in noticeably better shape than you arrived. Open six days a week. Details and booking:
